The Chicagoland Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) Program

The Community Engagement Research Alliance against Covid-19 Disparities (CEAL) initiative educates community health workers about COVID-19 to equip them with the necessary skills to work with the communities hit hardest by the pandemic and increase vaccine uptake on the South and West sides of Chicago. The CHW CEAL training offers two three-hour training sessions and introduces CHWs to essential skills such as motivational interviewing and cultural humility. Training is offered in English and Spanish. All CHWs (and those in similar roles, such as health educators, promotoras, vaccine ambassadors, contact tracers, advocates, etc.) are welcome to attend.
